Summer Term in Potter Class

During this half term, we are going to be learning the story of Little Charlie. The children will learn the story off by heart using words and actions.

During our Wow day we pretended that the wildlife area was Little Charlie's island, and we got to eat the different food that Little Charlie was taking to Grandma's house.

We will be looking at the differences between living in Luton and on an island. As part of our topic work we will be reading the stories of Katie Morag. We will also be learning about the different seasons.

In Maths lessons we will be counting in twos, fives and tens, sharing into two equal groups and finding halves and quarters of shapes.

PE - We will be working our basic movements skills; jumping, running, throwing and catching as well as developing balance, agility and co-ordination. Our PE Days are Monday & Wednesday. However, these days may change at any time so please have your PE kit in school every day.

HOMEWORK & READING:

Reading books - We will change books on a Mon and Wed but please bring them to school every day. Please listen to your child read 5x a week and they will earn a RED award. If they do this for 6 weeks, they will win a special prize.

Library books - We go to the school library on a Tuesday.

Maths homework - Will be set every Friday and must be returned by the following Wed. The children will be given 1 page from their Maths homework booklet to do.

Spellings - 5 words will be sent home every Friday.

Values homework - Will be set once a month.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you for your support.

Our Hundertwasser Display

Our Hundertwasser Display 1
We enjoyed learning about Hundertwasser. His paintings are brightly coloured and patterned. We tried to imitate his style when creating a picture to show the value of peace. We are very proud of our display.
