Year 1 – Rosen

Welcome to Rosen Class

with Mr Bates, Mrs Schiever & Mrs Janes

Summer Term in Rosen Class

In Rosen class we are spending the final half term of the year learning about the sea...we will be retelling and then innovating the story of the Rainbow Fish in our English lesson and we will be using the Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch as the basis for all our topic work.

In our Maths learning we will be continuing to learn our number facts; developing confidence when counting in twos, fives and tens, being able to add and subtract two digit numbers and one digit numbers.

Our PE lessons

These remain on Monday and Tuesday mornings.

Home Learning: Maths is sent home on Fridays. The values homework goes home on the first Monday of each month. The children need to do their reading everyday. Check out Bug Club if you want more books to read.

Information for Parents: The Phonics Screening Check

The phonics screening check is a short, simple test taken by Year 1 children in England each June to assess their reading ability. Parents can watch our short video to find out what happens during the check and why it's useful.
